About Our Program

Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (B.Bm.E.)

The Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering is a four-year program within the College of Science and Engineering (CSE). In our program, students learn to use their skills in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology to solve health problems.

Our program features an introductory seminar led by professors and industry professionals, core Biomedical Engineering courses designed and taught by our faculty, specialized tracks or Emphasis Areas that students can tailor to suit their interests and career goals, and a senior design course where students are paired with successful practicing engineers.

Qualified students who wish to gain relevant, full-time industrial experience while earning academic credits toward their degree may apply for our Co-Op Program. Students are admitted to the Co-Op Program after their junior year, work full-time on industrial assignment for one academic year, and then return to campus to complete the senior curriculum. It will therefore normally require 5 years for Co-Op students to complete the B.Bm.E. degree. Email for more information.

The department also offers an exclusive combined degree program that allows our majors to complete both a B.Bm.E. and a Master's degree in a total of five years.
