Choosing an Emphasis Area (EA)

It is strongly recommended that students choose an Emphasis Area (EA) by spring of their junior year so that they may take one of their Engineering and Science Electives (ESE's), as suggested on the four year plan

Click on the links below for a brief description and representative list of ESE's for each of the seven Emphasis Areas offered by the department:

Students may also design their own EA in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

The department will hold an Emphasis Area Information Session for juniors in the fall of each year (before spring registration begins) to give students more information about the EA's and to introduce the EA Advisors.
