Combined B.Bm.E./M.S. Application Information

The department offers a combined degree program that allows students to complete both a Bachelor's and Master's-Plan B degree in a total of five years. It is exclusively available to students in the Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Program here at the University of Minnesota.

Forms may be submitted via mail, email, fax, or in-person at the BME office. Other materials (e.g., letters of recommendation, GRE scores, transcripts, etc.) are not required and will not be considered.

Deadlines

Fall Admission

The deadline to submit the application form is June 1 after the end of the junior year. All grades should be posted by that time and must be included on the application form. Late applications will not be accepted. (If June 1 falls on a weekend or University holiday, the applications will be due on the following business day.)

Applicants will be notified of their admission status by July 1.

Spring Admission

The deadline to submit the application form is January 2 after fall semester of the senior year. All grades should be posted by that time and must be included on the application form. Late applications will not be accepted. (If January 2 falls on a weekend or University holiday, the applications will be due on the following business day.)

Applicants will be notified of their admission status by January 10.

Financial Support

Departmental support is not offered to students in the Combined Degree Program. Students are encouraged to seek external financial aid (scholarships, loans, etc.).
